Complaints about dk. domain names

Obvious financial crime. That is, if a domain name is used in connection with an obvious risk of financial crime, compromise of IT equipment, e.g. phishing and malware distribution, and/or content of a highly offensive nature, where the domain name's use creates a risk of confusion.
Manifest unlawful acts. That is, if there are manifestly illegal acts or omissions, AND there is a violation of important security or social considerations.
In addition, Punktum dk can suspend a domain name if it believes that a registrant has not provided correct and accurate contact information about him/herself.

Countering abuse and faster responses
Within a short time, there will be a reduction in the time you have to carry out a data and ID check if you have a domain name and a complaint is filed about this domain name, or the domain name appears in one of the channels that Punktum dk monitors for misuse.
This period is currently 30 days, but is expected to be shortened to 10 days or shorter.
This is done to ensure that the registrants behind abuse are shut down as soon as possible so that the abuse can be limited.
The proposal for this reduction has been brought up at a consultation that Punktum dk has previously held and will be included in the requirements set for Punktum dk by the Ministry of Digitalisation.
Punktum dk's board of directors has also decided to introduce the use of trusted flaggers when it is practically possible. This means that you can be given the status of trusted flagger if you meet the following requirements:
- Is an authority
- Makes administrative decisions in relation to the current types of cases
- Accepts responsibility for any consequences resulting from the suspension of the domain name (full legal responsibility)
- Have entered into a written agreement with Punktum dk to be a trusted flagger
No agreements have yet been made on trusted flaggers, but the first agreements are expected to be concluded before the summer of 2026.
The use of trusted flaggers is expected to provide a faster decision to suspend a domain name when an authority has made a decision to do so.
The threat picture
We know that domain names are misused for criminal purposes. And we know that criminals are constantly using new methods.
We want .dk domain names to be among the least abused, and therefore continuously adapt the initiatives we take to counter the abuse. And we will continue to do so.
Based on the facts that this short report's purpose has been to provide, now and in the future.
