Version 2.2, 1. October 2023
1. About the waiting list for a .dk domain name
1.1 Punktum dk manages and maintains a waiting list for .dk domain names. Any natural or legal person may be included on the waiting list for a .dk domain name that is already registered to someone else.
1.2 The waiting list means that there is a queue for registering an already registered domain name. The first person on the waiting list will be offered registration of the domain name if it is deleted.
2. How to be added to the waiting list
2.1 A request to be added to the waiting list for a domain name must be submitted via Punktum dk’s self-service portal: https://self-service.punktum.dk/. To be added to the waiting list, applicants must search for the desired domain name using the WHOIS lookup tool on Punktum dk’s website.
2.2 It is possible to be added to the waiting list even if there are already others on the waiting list for the domain name in question. Applicants are added to the waiting list in the order in which Punktum dk receives the requests for addition.
Those applying for addition to the waiting list for a domain name will be able to see their position in the queue when they send the request and before addition to the waiting list.
3. Contact information
3.1 Applicants for addition to the waiting list for a domain name must provide their contact information, i.e., name, address, telephone number and email address. If the applicant is a Danish legal entity, the business registration number (CVR) must also be provided.
3.2 If applicants are already users of Punktum dk’s self-service portal, they may enter their existing user ID.
4. Payment for addition to the waiting list
4.1 There is a mandatory fee, payable to Punktum dk, for addition to the waiting list. This fee ensures a place on the waiting list from the date of addition and the following year.
4.2 A further fee must be paid to Punktum dk to retain the place on the waiting list after the first year. If this fee is not paid for the subsequent period, the place on the waiting list will be deleted.
4.3 All payments must be made according to Punktum dk’s instructions. All fees are available on Punktum dk’s website.
5. Assignment of a domain name
5.1 When a domain name with a waiting list is deleted, Punktum dk sends a message to the applicant at the top of the waiting list, offering registration of the domain name. The domain name must be registered via a registrar of .dk domain names. The message includes further instructions on how to register the domain name.
5.2 Registration of the domain name requires that the applicant enters into an agreement with Punktum dk on the right of use to the domain name and provides proof of contact information and identity using MitID or by sending other documentation specified by Punktum dk.
5.3 The applicant at the top of the waiting list has 14 days to register the domain name. If the domain name is not registered within 14 days, the domain name will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.
5.4 If no one on the waiting list chooses to register the domain name, it will be released for registration on a first come first served basis.
These terms and conditions are laid down in accordance with section 14(1) of the Danish Domain Names Act. Punktum dk A/S is obliged to observe good domain name practice in the laying down of these terms and conditions; see section 14(3) of the Danish Domain Names Act.
