The prepaid model is used for:
- Applying for/registering domain names
- Renewing domain name periods
When registrars make requests, a credit check will be performed on the registrar’s account.
- For applications/registrations, this may result in a rejection if there are insufficient funds for the requested operation.
- For renewals, this has no impact, and renewals can always be carried out under the terms of the registrar agreement.
- For reactivation, this may result in a rejection if there are insufficient funds for the requested operation.
Registrars will be able to view the balance of their registrar account in both EPP and the registrar portal.
Payments can be made via online payment in the registrar portal or via bank transfer to the Punktum dk account number linked to the registrar account.
With this transition, we are also enabling the use of the registrar account for reactivation from suspension for domain names that have been suspended due to non-payment or expired and subsequently suspended for termination and deletion.
What do you need to do to use this model?
- Ensure that there are sufficient funds in your registrar account.
- For EPP users, it is a good idea to ensure that your system can handle error 2104 "Billing Failure," which may occur when applying for/registering domain names.
- For EPP users: Implement the "info balance" command in your system.
- For users of the registrar portal: View balance information under "Payment and Invoices."
- Payment options for your registrar account:
• For users of the registrar portal: Go to "Add Funds" under "Payment and Invoices," where payments can be made using a credit card.
• For registrars who wish to deposit via bank transfer (FIK): Find Punktum dk’s payment account number linked to your registrar account under "Payment and Invoices."
