Version 2.3, 1. July, 2026
1. About terminating the agreement on the right of use to a .dk domain name
1.1 Pursuant to section 7.3 of Punktum dk’s Terms and Conditions for the Right of Use to a .dk Domain Name, a registrant is entitled to terminate the agreement on the right to use his or her .dk domain name at any time, according to Punktum dk’s instructions. This document provides the registrant with instructions for terminating the agreement.
2. What does terminate the agreement mean?
2.1 Termination of the agreement on the right to use a .dk domain name entails that the registrant will no longer be registrant of the domain name, and thus that the person in question no longer has the right to use the domain name. If the domain name has been used for a website and one or more email addresses, these can no longer be used for the domain name when the agreement has been terminated.
2.2 An agreement on the right to use a .dk domain name can be terminated with effect from today's date or with effect from the date of expiry of the prepaid registration period.
2.3 When the date, from which the termination takes effect, has passed, Punktum dk will suspend the domain name for a period of 30 days, after which the domain name is deleted. This will make it possible for others to register the domain name.
3. Terminating the agreement with registrar management
3.1 A registrant, whose .dk domain name is registrar-managed, cf. section 2.1 of the Terms and Conditions for the Right of Use to a .dk Domain Name, has authorized the registrar to terminate the registrant's agreement with Punktum dk on the right to use the domain name.
The registrant must notify the registrar of a request for termination of the agreement with Punktum dk in the manner instructed by the registrar.
4. Terminating the agreement with registrant management
4.1 A registrant, whose .dk domain name is registrant managed, cf. section 2.2 of the Terms and Conditions for the Right of Use to a .dk Domain Name, may terminate the agreement on the right to use his or her domain name by using Punktum dk’s self-service portal: https://self-service.punktum.dk/.
If a registrant wishes to terminate the agreement for several .dk domain names that have been registered with different user IDs, the registrant must log in with each user ID and perform the deletion with each user ID.
5. Cancelling the termination of the agreement
5.1 A registrant, who has terminated the agreement on the right to use his or her .dk domain name, can cancel the termination. A termination can be cancelled in the period from the termination is made to Punktum dk’s deletion of the domain name at the end of the suspension period of 30 days.
5.2 A .dk domain name that has been suspended because of the registrant's termination of the agreement on the right to use the domain name or because of non-payment of a domain fee, can be restored. This is conditional on the payment of a fee for restoring the domain name and a domain fee for a new registration period, cf. the price list, which can be found on Punktum dk’s website.
5.3 A registrant, whose .dk domain name is registrant-managed, cf. section 2.2 of the Terms and Conditions for the Right of Use to a .dk Domain Name, can cancel the termination by using Punktum dk’s self-service.
5.4 A registrant, whose .dk domain name is registrar-managed, cf. section 2.1 of the Terms and Conditions for the Right of Use to a .dk Domain Name, has authorized the registrar to cancel on his or her behalf a termination of the agreement on the right to use the domain name and to restore a suspended domain name.
The registrant must notify the registrar of a request for cancellation of the termination of the agreement or a request for restoration of a suspended domain name in the manner instructed by the registrar, including payments to the registrar.
This procedure is laid down in accordance with section 14(1) of the Danish Domain Names Act. Punktum dk A/S is obliged to observe good domain name practice in the laying down of this procedure; see section 14(3) of the Danish Domain Names Act.
