DAS stands for Domain Availability Service. It is a fast, HTTP-based service that can be used to check the availability status of a .dk domain name.

What is DAS?
DAS is a query service for machine-to-machine communication. The service makes it possible to submit a query for a .dk domain name and receive a response indicating its availability status.
DAS can return four responses:
- available
- unavailable
- available-on-waiting-list
- enqueued
Why is DAS relevant?
DAS is an optional service, but it is useful when fast availability checks for .dk domain names are needed.
The service can be used to display current availability information directly in a webshop, ordering flow, or internal system where customers or employees search for available .dk domain names.
What can DAS be used for?
DAS can be used to integrate availability checks directly into systems. This includes:
- searching for available .dk domain names
- displaying whether a .dk domain name can be registered
- supporting ordering flows
- performing lookups in internal customer service or sales systems
- technical validation before registration through other services
DAS handles the availability lookup itself. Registration and other administration of .dk domain names are handled through other services, such as EPP.
