Registrar management

Basically, registrar management means that a registrar can manage a customer’s domain name.

Punktum dk will seek to align our procedure as closely as possible to those of other registries. In other words, we will comply with the EPP standard to the greatest possible degree. Punktum dk’s registrar portal also supports the options available in EPP.

Prerequisites

  • The registrar seeks the consent of the customer for management of tasks.
  • Punktum dk still enters into a direct agreement with the customer, but this becomes part of the flow on the registrar’s website.
  • Punktum dk continues to check the identity of all new customers and, occasionally, existing customers.
  • Customers may change to a different registrar at any time, if they wish. Customers also have the option to handle management of their own domain names via Punktum dk (registrant management).

The customer's consent

Customers must be fully aware of what they are consenting to. The registrar must therefore obtain the customer’s consent before taking over domain name management.

The registrar must add a consent box to its purchasing flow or obtain consent from existing customers.

One example of this could be:

Accept registrar management

 I accept that [REGISTRAR] handles my .dk domain name

By letting [REGISTRAR] manage your domain name, you agree that you give [REGISTRAR] the right to make payments to Punktum dk, change name servers, edit contact information, and terminate the domain name on your behalf.

You can change this at any time in Punktum dk's self-service

Switching to registrant management

Customers can switch from registrar management to registrant management at any time using Punktum dk’s self-service portal and can manage their domain names themselves.

If a registrar stops to sell .dk domain names, the domain names that may be handled on behalf of the registrant will be transferred to registrant management.
