| Question | Response | Action |
| How can we reject the request of transfers? | Registrars can reject a Fast Track Transfer request by returning a non-success HTTP response code (non-2xx/3xx). Punktum dk will notify the registrant that the transfer was unsuccessful. | Supported HTTP error codes are documented in the updated technical specification. Display of error reason to end users in Self-Service Portal is not yet implemented. The technical specification has been updated. Key changes include:
The updated specification is available at https://github.com/Punktum-dk/fast-track-transfer-specification |
| What response codes are being handled by Punktum dk when customer details are provided to the registrar, and what information can we provide back to the registrant? | The current solution only distinguishes between successful and unsuccessful requests. Detailed error information is not currently supported but may be considered in a future Phase 2 release. | Punktum dk will monitor transfer pattens after launch, to determine whether additional error handling is needed for Phase 2. |
| Are registrars that have not opted in also being displayed on the suggested registrar page? | Yes. All registrars that offer registrar management and domain registration for everyone are displayed equally regardless of whether they participate in Fast Track Transfer. Non-commercial registrars are not displayed on the registrar list (the registrar specifies this setting themselves. It can be changed in the registrar portal under Public Information by selecting the checkbox "Yes, we offer domain registration for everyone"). | Registrars to verify their public information settings in the Registrar Portal.
|
| How do registrars communicate their landing page to Punktum dk? | For Fast Track Transfer, the landing page URL is returned in the transfer response sent by the registrar. | |
| If we have not opted into Fast Track Transfer, can we still provide a landing page? | The registrar can always provide a URL to an optional page to support their customers. This URL can be updated in our registrar portal, and it is displayed in our registrar listings. The URL is also shown on the page that appears after the "Select Registrar" step, which also contains the generated Auth-ID for transfer, in the .dk self-service portal. | Punktum dk to investigate adding a configurable landing page for Fast Track in the Registrar Portal, as a possible Phase 2 enhancement. Registrars to verify their public information settings in the Registrar Portal.
|
| Are all incoming transfers ID validated? If they are not can we reject them? | Not all registrants are ID validated. Registrars may reject transfer requests by returning a non-success HTTP response code. Punktum dk will inform the registrant if the transfer is rejected. | Punktum dk will explore ways to improve communication with registrants regarding rejected transfer requests.
|
I am worried that we will receive data from registrants we do not know – should ID validation be mandatory?
Wouldn't it be a good idea to check whether the user is ID validated before they can initiate a transfer? | With NIS2, a restriction was introduced in the .dk self-service portal, meaning that only registrants who have completed ID/data verification or have an approved risk assessment can access the self-service portal and switch to registrar management. If an ID verification process is already in progress, it will be transferred to the registrar managed handle along with the same deadline and the same responsible party (either Punktum dk or the registrar). | Punktum dk acknowledged the concern and explained that they would first like to gain operational experience before deciding whether additional ID validation is necessary. The solution may be adjusted based on experience after launch. |
| Could Fast Track Transfer be implemented using an EPP poll queue instead? | Punktum dk acknowledged this would be technically possible but prefers synchronous communication to provide registrants with an immediate response and simpler user experience. | |
| Why are all registrars presented instead of only the registrars associated with the domain name? | The solution is designed to preserve the registrant's free choice of registrar, consistent with the existing transfer process. | |
| How will we be notified if a domain leaves our portfolio? | Registrars can receive notifications through the Registrar Portal via poll messages or email, depending on their configured notification settings. | Registrars to verify their notification settings in the Registrar Portal. |
| If we don't opt in for the Fast Track Transfer, will we still be listed? | Yes. Registrars that do not participate in Fast Track Transfer will still appear in the registrar selection list if they offer domain registration for everyone (commercial). | |
| When will the Fast Track Transfer feature be available? | The feature will be available in both Sandbox and Production from the following week. Registrars are encouraged to test the solution and provide feedback. | Registrars to test the solution and submit feedback. |
| Is Fast Track Transfer opt-in or opt-out? | Participation in Fast Track Transfer is opt-in. | Registrars to decide whether to opt into the feature. |
| Could customers who already have an existing billing registrar be guided towards selecting the same registrar for registrar management, in order to preserve their existing customer relationship and reduce confusion during the transfer process? | The registrars are listed in this order:
| Currently, there is no reason to specifically guide customers towards selecting the same registrar that is already listed as billing registrar. In the Fast Track process, the billing contact is already one of the criteria used when determining registrar choice. Therefore, no additional guidance towards the existing billing registrar is considered necessary at this time. |
| Based on feedback from the first webinar related to CVR number on registrars, we have added additional customer data fields to make it easier for registrars to match existing customers. | All added fields are specified in: GitHub - Punktum-dk/fast-track-transfer-specification: Fasttrack transfer | |
| If we have not opted into Fast Track Transfer, can we still provide our renewal price incl. VAT? | Yes. All registrars that support registrar management, and offer domain registration for everyone, can add their renewal price to be shown in the registrar list regardless of whether they participate in Fast Track Transfer.
| Registrars to update their public information settings in the Registrar Portal.
