| Why include registrars that do not support Fast Track, when this will inevitably lead to a failed transfer flow if the selected registrar does not support the feature? | Punktum dk explained that Fast Track Transfer is an optional feature and that registrants must retain the freedom to choose any registrar. To ensure neutrality and equal treatment of all registrars, both participating and non-participating registrars will continue to be displayed in the registrar list. Updated 1 July 2026: The solution is designed to preserve the registrant’s freedom of choice, consistent with the existing transfer process. Participation in Fast Track Transfer remains opt-in, but registrars that choose not to participate will still be listed. |
| Why has the bulk transfer feature been postponed? | Punktum dk confirmed that development of the bulk transfer functionality is ongoing. The feature remains a high priority and is currently planned for release in Q3 2026, following the summer period. |
| Have you considered that some registrars on the list do not accept direct customers and only operate wholesale? Does it make sense to display them? | Punktum dk confirmed that registrars operating through resellers may appear in the registrar list, as the contractual relationship exists with the registrar rather than individual resellers. Participants raised concerns that this could confuse registrants who are unable to purchase services directly. Punktum dk acknowledged the issue and will review how wholesale and reseller-based registrars are presented. Updated 9 July 2026: Registrars that do not sell domain names directly have been filtered from the list. |
| e-Boks campaign – who will receive the communication? | Punktum dk clarified that communications will target registrants who are considered part of a registrar’s portfolio (e.g., where the registrar is registered as nameserver contact, payer, or proxy) but who are not yet formally under registrar management. Further details on campaign criteria and target groups will be provided. |
| Will you provide a list of all available fields, and how will company registrants be represented? | Company registrants will appear in the same structure as individual registrants, with the company name displayed in the name field. Punktum dk investigated the addition of registrant type information and CVR/VAT numbers where available. | Wouldn't an opt-in registrar list reduce support requests and improve the user experience? | Participants suggested that only registrars actively opting in should be shown, preventing registrants from selecting providers that do not accept direct customers or do not wish to participate. Punktum dk considered this suggestion but ultimately chose to maintain a complete registrar list to preserve registrant choice. Updated 1 July 2026: Participation in Fast Track Transfer is opt-in, but all registrars remain visible in the registrar selection list. |
| How can a registrar reject a Fast Track Transfer request? | Registrars can reject a transfer request by returning a non-success HTTP response code (anything other than a 2xx or 3xx response). Supported HTTP error codes are documented in the updated technical specification. Display of error reason to end users in Self-Service Portal is not yet implemented. The technical specification has been updated. Key changes include: - Added error response codes and example error response - Clarified purpose of contact element and contact cloning behaviour during transfer - Added payload fields table with contact type enum values and examples for individual and company registrants. | What response codes are being handled by Punktum dk when customer details are provided to the registrar, and what information can we provide back to the registrant? | The current implementation distinguishes only between successful and unsuccessful requests. Detailed error messages are not yet supported but may be considered as part of a future Phase 2 enhancement. Punktum dk will monitor transfer patterns after launch to determine whether more granular error handling is required. Updated 9 July 2026: Expected in Q3 2026. |
| Can we provide a landing page even if we do not participate in Fast Track Transfer? | Yes. The registrar can always provide a URL to an optional page to support their customers. This URL can be updated in our registrar portal, and it is displayed in our registrar listings. The URL is also shown on the page that appears after the "Select Registrar" step, which also contains the generated Auth-ID for transfer, in the .dk self-service portal. Punktum dk to investigate adding a configurable landing page for Fast Track in the Registrar Portal, as a possible Phase 2 enhancement. Updated 9 July 2026: Expected in Q3 2026. |
| Are all incoming transfers ID validated? If not, can we reject them? | No. Not all registrants are ID validated. Registrars may reject transfer requests by returning a non-success HTTP response code, after which Punktum dk will notify the registrant. Updated 9 July 2026: Punktum dk is working on improved communication around rejected transfers, including the display of error messages, expected in Q3 2026. Additionally, the registrant’s active ID validation status will be included in the Fast Track flow before transfer initiation. This will address the issue described below. |
| Should ID validation be mandatory before a registrant can initiate a transfer? | With NIS2, a restriction was introduced in the .dk self-service portal, meaning that only registrants who have completed ID/data verification or have an approved risk assessment can access the self-service portal and switch to registrar management. If an ID verification process is already underway, it will transfer together with the registrant handle, retaining the original deadline and responsible party. Punktum dk acknowledged the concern and stated that further validation requirements may be considered after gaining operational experience with the solution. |
| Should an outstanding invoice on a domain that has not yet expired prevent a transfer? | Punktum dk has confirmed that unpaid invoices will continue to block transfers. Allowing transfers while preserving existing payment obligations would require significant changes to Punktum dk’s systems and is therefore not planned. Registrants must settle any outstanding invoices through the self-service portal before transferring a domain to registrar management. |
| What is the order used when identifying the registrar associated with a domain? Is the payer prioritised, or does the existing NSA-first order remain? | The order remains: 1. NSA (Name Server Administrator), 2. Payer, 3. Proxy. |
| Company CVR numbers should be included. | Updated 1 July 2026: Danish and international company registration numbers (CVR or equivalent) have been added where available. The new fields are documented in the Fast Track Transfer specification on GitHub. | Why are all registrars displayed instead of only the current registrar? | The solution is designed to preserve the registrant’s freedom of choice and aligns with the existing domain transfer process, where all eligible registrars are available for selection. |
| If we do not opt in to Fast Track Transfer, will we still be listed? | Yes. Registrars that choose not to participate in Fast Track Transfer will still appear in the registrar selection list. |
| Is Fast Track Transfer an opt-in or opt-out service? | Participation is opt-in. Each registrar can decide whether to enable participation in Fast Track Transfer. |
| Could existing customers be guided towards selecting their current billing registrar to maintain the customer relationship and reduce confusion? | Punktum dk does not currently see a need for additional guidance. The billing registrar is already one of the criteria used when determining registrar relevance, and registrars are presented in the following order: 1. NSA, 2. Payer, 3. Proxy. |
| Have you considered that some registrars on the list only operate through resellers and do not accept direct customers? | Updated 3 July 2026: A filter and an explanatory note have been added to the Registrar Portal for registrars operating through resellers. Punktum dk acknowledged concerns that displaying wholesale-only registrars may cause confusion for registrants seeking direct service. The presentation of reseller-based and wholesale registrars has therefore been reviewed and adjusted accordingly. |
