Registrar newsletter from Punktum dk - August 2023

More than 64% of all .dk domain names have a DNSSEC signing!

Thanks to all of you who have helped ensuring that we have a secure Danish internet with more DNSSEC signed domain names! The more domain names with DNSSEC - the more secure is the Danish part of the internet.

DNSSEC signing means that we can prevent hackers from taking control of a domain name and a website. And it works, because the Telecommunications Industry Association Denmark/the internet providers are ensuring that DNSSEC is on when accessing a domain name (in many other countries the internet providers do not see this as their task.)

In addition, you can check how secure your domains and your e-mails are using our security tool sikkerpånettet.dk. Link here

If you are curious about why it matters that as many domain names as possible have DNSSEC, read more here

Incentive payout for January to June

The incentives for the period from January to June 2023 has been paid out.

If you have an incentive agreement with us, you have received a separate e-mail including information about your incentives.

What is an incentive agreement?

DNSSEC signed domains:

You get 2 DKK per DNSSEC signed domain per year.

  • We offer this to increase the signing of domain names with DNSSEC and thereby create a more secure use of the Internet.

Registrar managed domains:

You get 2 DKK per domain per year.

  • A registrar manage a customer’s domain name after obtaining the customer’s consent before taking over domain name management.

All registrars are offered to enter into an incentive agreement with Punktum dk.

If you are missing information or want to receive an Incentive Agreement contract, contact Elin Smeby, registrar@punktum.dk or phone +45.6170 7708.

You can also get more information about the incentive agreement here

Update on MitID for Danish companies

It is now possible for Danish companies in self-service to complete ID control as a company using a private MitID.  By logging in with MitID, the customer is presented to a list of all companies that are linked to the CPR number from MitID.

On Virk.dk you can find a guide that explains in which situations you can use private MitID as a company or as an association. More information here

NemID is closing down on October 31st

Due to the transition to MitID, NemID is closing down on October 31st 2023. This means that Danish registrants will no longer be able to use NemID, and will instead have to use MitID to perform id-control after October 31st 2023. For more information, please see here
