Choose a registrar for your .dk domain name

Going forward, your .dk domain name must be managed by a registrar. If you haven’t chosen one yet, this guide will help you through the transition, step by step.

It depends on how the .dk domain name is managed. If it is registrant-managed, it is not automatically cancelled when you cancel your web hosting, website or email service with your registrar. You must cancel the .dk domain name separately with Punktum dk.

If the .dk domain name is registrar-managed, you must contact your registrar, which is responsible for cancelling the domain name on your behalf.

The check ensures that we have the correct identity and contact details for the registrant. This helps protect against someone misusing a person’s or company’s identity to register a domain name.

No. A data check normally confirms your email address, while an ID check confirms or documents your identity.

Log in to Punktum dk’s self-service portal, link your MitID and enter your CPR or CVR number. Then follow the instructions to complete the check.

You only need to complete an ID check if you are asked to do so. If required, you will receive an email with instructions on how to submit documentation through Addo Sign.

Registrants with a Danish country code have 30 days to complete the check using MitID. Registrants with a non-Danish country code have 25 days to submit documentation if an ID check is required.

The ID check is linked to you as the registrant. If the check is not completed, it may therefore affect all .dk domain names registered to you.

Yes. You can still complete the check during the 30-day suspension period. Once the check has been completed and approved, the .dk domain name will be reactivated.

The domain name will first be suspended for 30 days. If the check is still not completed, the registration of the .dk domain name will be terminated.
If the .dk domain name is registrar-managed, contact your registrar. Otherwise, you can find help and contact Punktum dk on the customer service page.
