How can we help you?

If your website or e-mail address is not working, it may be because we have suspended your domain name. The most common reason for doing this is that we have not received payment for registration of the domain name.

You can easily get your website or e-mail address up and working again by restoring the domain name in our online self-service portal.

The restoration fee is DKK 125 per domain name. A domain name can be suspended for three months. If it is not restored within three months, we delete the registration of the domain name.

You must transfer the domain name if you want to give it to another person.

Please note, that you cannot transfer the domain if there is an unpaid invoice on the domain name. Please pay the invoice and then you can transfer the domain name.

There is a fee of 70.00 DKK to accept the transfer of a domain name and become the new registrant. When you have transferred the domain name you no longer have the right to use it.

Step 1

Choose "Transfer to new registrant" in the drop-down menu in the "Manage" column.
PLEASE NOTE! If you wish to transfer more than one domain name, you can find it under "Manage multiple domain names" at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

Enter the e-mail address of the new registrant who is to have the domain and press CONTINUE.

Step 3

Make sure you entered the correct information and press CONFIRM.

The new registrant of the domain names will receive a request by e-mail to accept the transfer. The transfer will not be carried out until the new registrant has accepted and paid.

PLEASE NOTE! If you are only proxy of the domain name the current registrant must confirm the transfer of the domain name before it can be carried out. The current registrant will receive a request by email. Once the current registrant has confirmed that the transfer may be carried out the future registrant will receive an email with a request to accept the transfer. When the future registrant has accepted the transfer it will be carried out.

If you do not have your password, you can click "Forgot password" and have a temporary password sent to your registered e-mail address.

Remember that you can also log in with your MitID if you have previously connected it with your profile.

If you have not previously connected a MitID, and you cannot receive login information on your current contact email with us, then do the following:

As a company:
You need to make sure that the e-mail address you have provided in the CVR register is updated to an active e-mail to which we can send login information. We must be able to see the e-mail address by public posting on CVR under "Extended company information" at https://datacvr.virk.dk/
Afterwards you must call us and inform us that you have updated your e-mail address.

As a private registrant:
You must call our customer service (33 64 60 60) from your specified contact number and have the contact email updated.

If none of the above is an option, you can read more here

If the registrant for one or more domain names has passed away, only the deceased's heir can gain access to manage (transfer or delete) the domain name.
To access this, the heir must submit a probate certificate.

If there are more than one heir, a power of attorney must be submitted from them, giving the desired heir the right to administer the right to use the domain name.

This must be submitted via our contact form which can be found here:

Use “My profile” and the subject “Bankruptcy/estate”

Danish citizens can only use .dk domains with MitID validation.

Everyone who has a .dk domain name, who is resident in Denmark, must associate a MitID with their profile on self-service. The process starts automatically when you log in to self-service.

You cannot be exempted from using MitID in Denmark - you can only be exempt from using digital mail and online self-service in public institutions, but since Punktum dk is not a public institution, it does not apply to us.

Validation means that Punktum dk compares the name and address information provided to us with the information listed in the Danish National Register of Persons/Companies.

The name and address information of registrants with a Danish address is validated by checking the above-mentioned registers at the time a domain name is created. This way, we are certain that all contact information for our registrants is accurate.

Once your information is validated, you do not have to update your address information anywhere else than in the Danish National Register of Persons/Companies. However, you must still keep your other contact information, such as your e-mail address, up to date.

All Danish associations must associate a MitID with their domain names.

If you have CVR number, you can order an MitID at MitID-business here.

If you do not have a CVR number, you need to create one. This can be done at virk.dk (Danish only).

After connecting MitID, other members of the association will be able to log on to self-service with the regular Punktum dk user-ID and password.

For a start, ask whether your financial department has an administrator MitID that you can use. They have to report to SKAT with NemID, so they might have it.

If no one in the company has MitID, you can create an administrator NemID(Danish only).

There are several reasons why you may experience problems logging in with MitID.

  • You may experience errors when logging in with MitID if you have a private MitID with a MitID Erhverv attached, and this is not set up correctly. You can check your setup by contacting MitID support here. Read here for more information about MitID Erhverv.
  • If you have chosen the wrong MitID, login will fail. This could be, for example, if you use your private MitID but have chosen to log in as your company or vice versa.

If your domain name is registered under a CVR number with a P-number, then you must ensure that the administrator for the registered MitID has signed for you to be registered as a user on MitID Erhverv, or has ordered a user certificate for you.

Instructions for connecting to MitID Erhverv:

  1.      Go to https://mitid-erhverv.dk/tilslutning/
  2.      Go down the page, select "Start connection" and follow the instructions on the page.
  3.      Accept terms.
  4.      Set up the connection as an administrator.
  5.      You must then complete the setup, where you must confirm that you want to use your private MitID for business validation.

Note that if you have several CVR numbers associated with your MitID, the connection must be accepted per CVR.

You can subsequently log in to our self-service and validate with MitID Erhverv.

If you need further guidance, please contact MitID Erhverv on +45 33 98 00 20.

From 31 October 2023, it will no longer be possible to use NemID.

You must therefore ensure that you have added MitID to your login at Punktum dk, which you can do in our self-service.

Here you must log in with your MitID, after which you will be asked to enter your user ID and password. Then follow the on-screen wizard to associate your MitID.

If you experience problems logging in, you can read more here

ID check is a process in which we verify the contact information and identity of a registrant.

Registrants residing in Denmark must log in to our self-service portal using MitID and then enter their CPR or CVR number.

Please read the complete procedure for ID check of new registrants and the complete procedure for existing registrants.

For registrants with an address outside of Denmark, we perform a risk assessment of the contact information provided in a domain name application. We assess the probability that the contact information is incorrect, and thereby the risk that the domain name application may be associated with cybercrime. A registrant may be asked to submit documentation verifying that the address and identity provided are correct.

For a complete explanation of this procedure, click here.

If you reside in Denmark, you log in to our self-service portal, link your MitID to the account and then provide your CVR or CPR number. Please read the complete procedure for ID check of new registrants and the complete procedure for existing registrants.

If you reside outside of Denmark, you will only have to complete the ID check if requested by Punktum dk. If you are asked to complete the ID check, you must prove your address and identity by uploading various documents bearing your name and address.

For a complete explanation of this procedure, click here.

We check the identity to ensure, that we have the correct identity and correct contact information for the registrants of .dk domains. We do this to prevent improper use of the registrant’s name in connection with cybercrime.
